About the Ministry
Luke started making the crosses in July 2008, as gifts for summer missionary girls who had helped run Vacation Bible School at our church. The girls loved them & we received so many compliments on them. Luke started making more & more & coming up with different designs.

I started wearing them & got so many comments from friends, colleagues & strangers, I found it opened the door to having a conversation about how it was made; where I got it; & most importantly, I began sharing my faith with others. I began carrying a spare one in my purse & when someone admired my necklace or commented on it, I gave them one. The results have always been extremely positive.

Luke uses 3 separate nails to build one cross. He uses antique square nails from our local area. These nails were first made in 1820 through to 1905, so they are all over a hundred years old & in limited supply. Luke begins by prepping the nails for welding, then he welds them into position. Once the nails are welded, he quenches them to cool them back down, so to re-harden the wrought iron. The cross is then put in a sand blasting cabinet & all the slag is removed from the cross, leaving a clean polished cross that is ready for painting. It is then coated with metallic enamel paint.
